5 Reasons Why You Should Try the Ketogenic Diet

Hey everyone, Yossif here. Sorry for my lack of updates but in the meantime I’ve got a special guest post about Why You Should Try the Ketogenic Diet from my friend Noor Najam!

5 Reasons Why You Should Try the Ketogenic Diet

The Ketogenic diet is a term on everyone’s lips these days. Since most of my friends are health fanatics, I was hearing this term way too often recently, so I decided to quench my curiosity and see what the big deal was.

I noticed that the Ketogenic diet was quite different from other diet fads that had taken over recently, like the Paleo diet and detox diets. I actually understood the principle of the keto diet much better and I liked it more too, mainly because I could eat a lot of cheese but that is beside the point, right?

Like, the only thing missing from other diets was actual, delicious foods. But on the keto diet, you can make your food as delicious as you want!

So without further ado, let us get to the advantages of a keto diet:

1. Rapid Weight Loss

The biggest advantage of the keto diet is rapid weight loss. You are shedding pounds throughout the day with minimal effort!

How does this happen? Simple, you replace the instant energy you get from carbohydrates with fats. Your body then has no choice but to utilize the fats in the body for energy. When the fat is flushed out of your body, you automatically lose a considerable amount of weight.

2. Flat Belly

Your belly is one of the biggest stores of fat in your body. So naturally, that source of fat is depleted as well and you get the flat belly you have wanted for so long now.

Not only do you get a beautiful body this way, the organs in your abdominal region also lose all the fat that has been blocking their function for so long. So your gastrointestinal system benefits a lot as well!

3. Better Brain Function

The keto diet was first introduced to prevent seizures in children. Doctors had conducted studies and found out that replacing glucose with ketone bodies as food for the brain is really helpful in preventing seizures in epileptic kids.

There was further research conducted after that and doctors found out that a keto diet also keeps us more focused and prevent chances of Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia in our old age.

4. Energetic Days

Fat is a much more potent source of energy than carbohydrates. The body utilizes carbs because they are easier to process but once they are eliminated from our diet, the body has no choice but to use fat instead, right?

So when the fat in your body is broken down, you get a lot more energy than you would with carbohydrates. Therefore, you feel much more active and can perform your daily tasks with ease. It is recommended that you use this extra energy to work out so you can tone your body as well.

5. Healthy Life!

There are a number of diseases that can be prevented simply by taking up the keto diet for three months every few years. This includes heart diseases, brain disorders, and even bowel dysfunction.
